Tool Steels Precision CNC Machining Services
AXALLOY provides high-precision CNC milling, turning, wire EDM, and precision grinding for wear-resistant and high-impact tool steels including A2, D2, H13, and M2. We control the complete process chain—from roughing and stress relief to post-heat-treat hard machining—ensuring strict dimensional stability, tight tolerances down to ±0.005 mm, and validated surface integrity.
Predictable Quality for High-Stress Tool Steel Components
Tool steels demand rigorous thermal management, dedicated cutting parameters, and strict sequence planning to avoid distortion, micro-cracks, and residual stress. AXALLOY integrates multi-axis milling, wire EDM, and sub-micron grinding to guarantee both profile accuracy and metallurgical integrity.
Pre- & Post-Hardening Machining
Optimized roughing with intermediate stress relief followed by controlled vacuum hardening and precision hard milling or CBN turning for parts up to 64 HRC.
- Minimal distortion during quenching
- Dedicated high-rigidity tooling
Wire EDM & Sub-Micron Grinding
Sub-micron cylindrical and surface grinding achieving flatness down to 0.003 mm, combined with precision wire EDM for tight internal radii (R0.05 mm) and intricate die pockets.
- Surface finish down to Ra 0.2 μm
- Zero recast layer risk with skim passes
Full Inspection & Certification
Complete dimensional inspection utilizing Zeiss CMMs, optical measurement, hardness testing (Rockwell/Vickers), ballooned drawings, and raw material traceability.
- First Article Inspection (FAI) reports
- Heat treatment & hardness certificates
